Then, reinstall the battery. If it stops working after exposure to soapy or salty water the chip may be damaged and should be replaced.
Another possibility is an inoperable antenna module fuse that is sending the lock or unlock signal to the vehicle. Depending on the model, the fuse is located in one of the many locations including the engine bay, the side of the dashboard, under the rear seat, or trunk.
